On Saturday, August 5th 2017, the William Hingston Center in Parc-Extension, one of Montreal’s most diverse neighborhoods, hosted a special Citizenship Oath Ceremony as part of Canada 150, a year commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation.

Organized by the National Bangladeshi-Canadian Council (NBCC) in collaboration with Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), 150 citizenship candidates gathered in the center’s auditorium with their families and friends to begin a new life as citizens of Canada. The event was opened to the public and the local community of Parc-Extension attended the very first Citizenship Ceremony to be held in the multicultural neighborhood.

National Bangladeshi-Canadian Council (NBCC) hosted the "Rendez-Vous au Canada 150 Fair & Festival – 2017" event as part of Canada 150, a year commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation. 

The beginning of the performances debuted with a warm up performance by Paul and Ron, a father and son duo on guitar and clarinet. It was followed by  Shargam Music Academy,  Sinha Danse, led by the choreographer Roger Sinha, presented MoW! (Montré(olly)Wood) which inspired by the  flashmob trend with a mix of Bollywood and western dance. Corps et Âme en movement performed Bollywood, Gypsy, and Belly dances and the Troupe Folklorique Grecque Syrtaki performed traditional Hellenic dance from Greece.

The 150th Canadian Confederation Basketball and Badminton Championship is a game between PX Knights versus Canadian Knights. It is youth empowerment in the local community and bonds the community of Parc-Extension together
