The National Bangladeshi-Canadian Council NBCC coordinates the activities and represents the interests of the Bangladeshi Canadian community. We service our community’s needs in a number of charitable and educational areas such as youth groups, social services, immigrant settlement, Cultural development, Integration and education.
The Council is dedicated to supporting and promoting the needs of the Bangladeshi Canadian community for the benefit of future generations. To achieve our goal, we need your financial assistance. The following outlines some of the various opportunities that are available to those who wish to contribute financially to the Council. Your support will assist us in ensuring that the traditions and values of the Bangladeshi Canadian community continue in Canada.

Appeal from the President
This year is an important milestone for our community as we celebrate the 40th anniversary of Bangladeshi settlement in Canada. As always, we face a number of exciting challenges and opportunities. With Bangladeshi government, our community, together with the Government of Canada, must proactively engage Bangladeshi at both the government and non-government levels if we hope that Bangladeshi will continue developing its democratic institutions, economic stability, civil society and national identity. There is no question that a meaningful relationship with Bangladesh Canada will have a positive influence on our community and for the future of Bangladesh-Canadian for decades to come.
We must at the same time be mindful of our community’s needs. We will continue to revitalize communities across Canada by engaging our constituents through traditional and non-traditional channels such as digital and social media. We are engaging our community in new ways with the establishment of a number of grassroots focused initiatives, such a National Bangladeshi Arts Council, National Bangla Academy Council, National Sports Committee and National Youth Advisory Council. We are encouraging some of the most prominent supporters of our community plan ahead to established NBCC National Advisory Council.
We are excited about to opening a NBCC Provincial office in Toronto, Ottawa, Alberta, Saskatoon, and Vancouver this fall where we can be closer to national decision makers. With all these new and significant initiatives we have doubled our operating budget and need your support to help our community reach its full potential. Your financial contribution to the NBCC National Fund will go a long way to helping us achieve that goal. I look forward to working with you to make a difference for the benefit of our community.

Designated Funds
A Designated Fund represents a sum of money set aside within the Council or Trust for a special or designated purpose. The annual income earned from investing the capital of each Designated Fund is disbursed in accordance with the instructions of those establishing such a fund to the designated beneficiary of the fund. These can include a specific cause, project or area of interest.
A Designated Fund provides an opportunity for an individual, family, organization or institution to make a lasting contribution to the community and carry its name into perpetuity.
